Choosing a Seoul aesthetic clinic from abroad: seven things to check before you book

There are hundreds of options when you search for a Seoul aesthetic clinic, and most of them look alike on Instagram. This guide lists seven practical checks — the questions our own coordinators are asked — so you can compare clinics on what actually affects your treatment.

We are a skin clinic in Sinsa, Seoul, so we have an obvious interest. We have kept this guide to checks you can apply to any clinic, including us, and we have not named or compared other clinics.

1. Who consults you, and who actually treats you

The person who explains your plan and the person who performs it are not always the same. Ask directly: will the doctor I see at consultation be the one who treats me?

At Symphony, the doctor who consults you performs the treatment. Our team has four physicians, and Dr. Hyun Kyung-bae has practised at Symphony for 17 years. You can see the team on the medical team page.

2. Whether the plan starts from your skin or from a menu

A good consultation starts with what is happening in your skin — which layer has loosened, what kind of pores you have, how your skin reacted to past treatments. Be cautious if the first thing you receive is a package list.

3. Language support from first message to aftercare

"English-speaking staff" can mean anything from a translated website to an interpreter in the room. Check where language support starts and ends.

4. How the clinic shows you genuine products and doses

For device treatments, the consumable matters. For Thermage FLX, for example, ask whether the tip is opened in front of you and whether the shot count is written down. At Symphony the tip is unsealed in the room, you are told the shots used, and a certificate is issued afterwards.

5. What the quoted price actually includes

Headline prices are hard to compare. Ask for the quote to list:

  1. The product or device, with shot count or amount.
  2. Areas included (for example, whether the eye area is extra).
  3. Anesthesia or sedation.
  4. Any combined treatments or aftercare sessions.

6. Privacy and how busy the clinic is

Some visitors are comfortable in large open treatment floors; others are not. Symphony works by appointment, one patient at a time in a private room.

7. What happens after you fly home

Swelling, redness or a question about results often comes up a few days after you have left Korea. Before booking, ask how the clinic will respond when you are home: by message, with photos, and in which language.

For our patients, questions, quotes, scheduling and aftercare stay in one WhatsApp thread. Directions to the clinic — near Sinsa Station (Line 3) and Apgujeong Rodeo, with the skin clinic on the 2nd floor — are on the visit page.

Key points

  • Check whether the doctor who consults you is the one who treats you.
  • Look for a plan that starts from your skin, not from a package menu.
  • Confirm language support before, during and after the visit.
  • Ask to see genuine consumables and a quote that lists shots, areas and sedation.
  • Ask how aftercare works once you are back home.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose a good aesthetic clinic in Seoul?

Compare clinics on who performs the treatment, whether the plan starts from a skin assessment, language support before and after the visit, how genuine products are shown, what the quote includes and how aftercare works at home.

Do Seoul skin clinics speak English?

Support varies widely between clinics. At Symphony, English-speaking patients can consult and get a quote on WhatsApp before flying, and an interpreter is present from reception to the treatment room.

Can I get a price before I travel to Korea?

Yes. Send your concern, photos and travel dates on WhatsApp. We reply with a suggested plan and an estimate reviewed by the doctor; the final plan is confirmed at consultation.

How much does a skin treatment cost in Korea?

It depends on the treatment, the product amount or shot count, the areas and any sedation, so a single figure is not meaningful. Ask each clinic for a quote that lists those items, and add flights and accommodation when comparing with home.

How much is Botox in Seoul?

Botox pricing depends on the product, the number of units and the areas treated. We offer Botox at Symphony and send an estimate after reviewing your goals and photos on WhatsApp.

Where is Symphony Skin Clinic?

In Sinsa, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, near Sinsa Station on Line 3 and Apgujeong Rodeo. The skin clinic is on the 2nd floor.
