Does the treatment hurt?
Sofwave has a cooling system that protects the epidermis, so discomfort is generally lower than with conventional HIFU. Most patients have the treatment at a level they find tolerable.
Is there swelling or downtime afterwards?
Because it precisely stimulates only the superficial layer, most people return to daily life right after treatment, and swelling or redness is usually minimal.
When will I see results?
A slight tightening may be felt right after treatment, and wrinkles and firmness can improve gradually over 4–12 weeks as collagen renewal progresses.
Which areas is it most suited to?

What can appear afterwards
- Redness and a warm feeling on the treated area for a few hours.
- Mild swelling or a pressed feeling that can last a few days.
- Rarely, a temporary change in sensation.
After the treatment
- You can wash and wear make-up from the same day.
- Avoid alcohol, sauna, jjimjilbang and hard exercise for a week.
- Use sunscreen and keep the skin well moisturised.

How much does Sofwave cost?
It depends on the area and the number of lines. You receive a written estimate at the video consultation, before you commit to travel.
Sofwave or Ultherapy — which do I need?
They work at different depths. Sofwave holds one layer, the dermis at 1.5 mm; Ultherapy reaches deeper, including the SMAS. The section above sets the three devices side by side. Which one suits you is decided from the layer where the laxity started.
How many sessions, and how often?
The number and the interval depend on your skin and your goal. When a maintenance session would be due is decided from how the first one settles.
Can I have Thermage or botulinum toxin on the same trip?
The combination and the order are decided at the consultation. Some plans run several treatments in one visit; sometimes it is better to separate them across days.
I have had fillers or threads — can I still have this?
It depends on when, where, and what was placed. Please tell us at the consultation so it can be taken into account.
Can I fly the same day?
The treatment leaves no wound and you can wash and wear make-up from the same day. Whether to fly on the day is still your own call, and we will tell you what to expect in the hours afterwards.
