What CaHA is, and where it goes
CaHA stands for calcium hydroxylapatite — a mineral already present in the human body as an essential nutrient. In Radiesse it takes the form of microspheres, delivered as a mesh-like structure into the lower layer of the skin rather than being scattered through the dermis in dozens of small injections.
Ageing skin is skin whose collagen fibres have thinned and lost their weave. Radiesse works on that structure — the extracellular matrix — rather than on the surface. The aim is to move the tissue from thinned, sparse fibres back toward the densely interwoven arrangement that characterises younger skin.
Five matrix components, not one
Most collagen boosters are described by a single output. Radiesse is reported to prompt production of five distinct matrix substances over an extended period.

How is this different from a hyaluronic acid filler?
A hyaluronic acid filler creates volume by holding water where it is placed, and remains as gel until the body breaks it down. Radiesse is placed to prompt your own matrix — collagen, elastin, proteoglycans and the vascular supply — to rebuild. One replaces volume; the other rebuilds structure.
How is it different from Juvelook or Collaum?
Those are PDLLA and PLLA products; Radiesse is CaHA, a mineral. It is also placed deeper, and is reported to prompt a broader set of matrix components including type III collagen, elastin and proteoglycans. Which suits you depends on the layer being treated.
Does it hurt?
The source material describes it as a low-discomfort treatment that does not require anaesthetic cream. Topical cream and sedation are nevertheless available here if you would prefer them.
How long does it last?
Radiesse is described as maintaining for around a year from a single session. Individual response varies, and how it develops for you is reviewed at follow-up rather than assumed.
Can I fly home the same day?
Yes. Same-day return to normal activity is expected. Any injection-related marks settle quickly, and there is no dressing to manage while travelling.
