Exosome

Cell-to-cell signals, dosed to the area being treated

Exosomes are the signalling particles cells release to communicate with each other. Delivered into skin that has been damaged or inflamed, they support cell vitality, prompt regeneration and help the skin barrier recover.

Treatment time10–20 min
AnaesthesiaTopical cream, or sedation-assisted comfort
DowntimeSame-day return
IntervalEvery 3–4 weeks

※ The final plan and cost are confirmed by your physician after an in-person examination at the clinic. Results and recovery vary by individual.

Exosome

What an exosome actually is

An exosome is not a drug and not a filler. It is a vesicle that a cell secretes to send instructions to other cells — and one derived from stem cells carries the signals those cells would send. Placed in the skin, it works on the environment: cell activity, the balance of the skin's microflora, the barrier that keeps irritation out.

Exosomes are not interchangeable. Source material, purity and concentration differ between products, and so does what each is best suited to. Which one is used, and how much of it, is decided at consultation rather than fixed by a menu.

How it works on the skin

  1. 01The signal is deliveredStem cell conditioned media is placed into the skin, carrying the messages cells use to coordinate repair.
  2. 02Cell activity risesSkin cells become more active and regeneration is induced in tissue that has been damaged or inflamed.
  3. 03The barrier recoversThe skin's defensive barrier is restored and strengthened, which is why calming and resilience are the usual reasons for choosing it.

Two-dimensional and three-dimensional culture

How the stem cells were cultured before the exosomes were harvested changes what you are receiving. The exosome we use is produced by three-dimensional culture, made under Anterogen's patented technology.

The exosome we use

SourceUmbilical cord blood-derived stem cell conditioned media
PurityOver 99.5% stem cell-derived exosome as the main component
EV content5 billion purified extracellular vesicles (EVs)
DosingQuantified in units, so concentration and number can be adjusted to the area being treated
Quality controlProduced through a controlled manufacturing process with the required quality-control testing

The range we work with

Four exosomes are kept in the clinic. Which is used is a consultation decision, based on skin condition and what you are treating.

Limelight
Cord blood-derived stem cell exosome, over 99.5% purity, quantified in three units so the dose can be matched to the area.
Neostem HGF
Contains hepatocyte growth factor — a growth factor that supports the formation of healthy cells where regeneration is needed, and movement between cells through the vasculature.
ASCE
One of the exosome options held in the clinic; used where it is the better match for the skin in front of us.
3D
The exosome obtained through three-dimensional culture, chosen particularly where skin is sensitive or reactive.

What it is usually chosen for

Breakouts and repeated inflammation
Skin that flares often, where calming matters more than resurfacing.
Skin that needs settling
Skin weakened by environment, over-treatment or irritation and in need of recovery.
Dullness and dryness
Skin that has lost radiance and feels rough or parched.
Pores and firmness
Used towards pore refinement, skin tone and firmness as the skin's condition improves.
Scalp and hair
Also used in scalp and hair treatment; whether it suits your case is confirmed at consultation.

How Symphony runs it

The vial is the same wherever you buy it. What differs is who decides the dose and who holds the handpiece.

The doctor plans and performs
Which exosome, how many units and which delivery route — decided by the physician who then carries out the treatment.
Dose matched to the area
Because the product is quantified in units, concentration and number are set for the area being treated rather than by a fixed package.
Delivery route chosen
Needle-free Mirajet, automated injector, multi-needle injector or hand injection, matched to the material and to how you tolerate injection.
A plan for after you fly
Interval, home care and what to avoid are written out before you leave Korea, and you can reach us once you are home.

Questions we are asked most

Is exosome treatment suitable for sensitive skin?

It is one of the reasons patients are offered it. Exosomes obtained through three-dimensional culture secrete the immune modulator PGE2 at higher concentration, which is associated with suppression of inflammatory cytokine secretion. Suitability is still confirmed at consultation.

What is the difference between the exosomes on offer?

Source material, purity, concentration and the growth factors present differ, and so does what each suits. Limelight is cord blood-derived at over 99.5% purity; Neostem HGF contains hepatocyte growth factor. We explain which we are proposing and why before treatment.

Can I fly home the same day?

Yes. Treatment takes 10 to 20 minutes and you return to normal activity straight away. With needle delivery, small bumps are normal and usually absorb within about a day; with needle-free Mirajet there are none.

How many sessions are needed?

Sessions are usually spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart, with the number decided at consultation. If your time in Korea is short, we plan around the dates you have and set out what is best left to a later visit.

Can it be combined with other boosters?

Yes — exosome is one of the materials we combine within a Symphony Custom Booster session. What it is paired with depends on what your skin is short of, and is decided at consultation.

What we look at before anything is switched on

01
Skin analysis first
Skin type, thickness and condition are assessed before settings are chosen, so energy levels and tips match the skin in front of us rather than a default protocol.
02
Planned and performed by a physician
The doctor who consults you draws up the plan and carries it out. Nothing is delegated after the consultation.
03
Layered, not single-device
Treatments are combined by depth and symptom, with intervals planned around your recovery.
04
Care that continues
Conditioning before, calming immediately after, and home-care guidance through recovery — then the next session is adjusted to how your skin responded.
