EMFACE
Radiofrequency and HIFES in one 20-minute session — skin and muscle together
EMFACE runs two energies at the same time through one applicator. Radiofrequency heats the dermis to build collagen; HIFES stimulates the motor nerves so the lifting muscles of the face contract. Nothing is injected and nothing is cut, and the session is short enough to sit inside a travel day.
※ The final plan and cost are confirmed by your physician after an in-person examination at the clinic. Results and recovery vary by individual.

What the device actually does
Ageing is not only a skin problem. Over time the epidermis, dermis, fascia and the facial muscles all weaken at once — firmness goes, fat volume falls, and the face descends as a whole. Treating only one of those layers leaves the others as they were.
EMFACE applies Synchronized RF and HIFES simultaneously, so the dermis and the muscle layer receive their own energy in the same session. The RF side works on collagen production in the dermis. The HIFES side triggers depolarisation of the motor neurons, which contracts the muscles that lift the face.
Two energies, two layers
These are the manufacturer's technical descriptions of what each energy is designed to do.
How a session runs
- 01Before — muscle and skin that have agedMuscle that has lost tone, and skin that has descended as collagen weakened.
- 02Step 1 — assessment and applicator placementYour skin is assessed, then the forehead and cheek applicators are positioned according to that plan.
- 03Step 2 — RF and HIFES togetherRadiofrequency heat penetrates the dermis while HIFES energy stimulates the muscle layer, for the length of the session.
- 04After — collagen, elastin, muscleCollagen and elastin production is prompted in the dermis, and muscle tone and density increase.
Lifting that pulls the surface, and lifting that includes muscle
Most non-surgical lifting treats one layer. The comparison below is the one the clinic sets out.
| Devices that treat a single layer | EMFACE | |
|---|---|---|
| Energy | Radiofrequency alone, or focused ultrasound alone | Radiofrequency and HIFES together |
| Layer treated | The dermis, or the fascia (SMAS) layer | The dermis and the facial muscle layer |
| Muscle | Not addressed | Motor neurons stimulated so the lifting muscles contract |
| Where the change comes from | Tightening or pulling of skin and fascia | Collagen in the skin, plus tone and density in the muscle |
Reported clinical figures
Where EMFACE is aimed
Placement follows facial anatomy — mouth corners, forehead, nasolabial folds and the mid-face contour.
Where we treat differently
The applicators are fixed in shape. Where they go, and how the session fits your wider plan, is a physician decision.
Questions we are asked most
Are there needles or incisions?
No. EMFACE is non-invasive — the applicators sit on the surface of the skin. A topical cream is used before the session.
How long does one session take?
Around 20 minutes, and there is no separate recovery period. You can return to normal activity straight afterwards.
When will I notice a change?
Some change can be felt immediately, and the effect builds gradually afterwards as collagen and elastin form and muscle tone develops. Response varies between individuals.
How often is it repeated?
The usual interval is 3 to 6 months. Your own interval is set at consultation, based on how your skin and muscle respond.
Can it be combined with Thermage or Ultherapy?
They work on different layers, so a combined plan is common. Which combination suits you, and in what order, is decided with your doctor at consultation.
※ The clinical figures above are averages from the manufacturer's studies, not a prediction of your own result. EMFACE is a non-surgical treatment and does not remove excess skin. Results, sensation and recovery vary by individual, and no outcome is guaranteed. Suitability and the treatment plan are confirmed by your doctor at consultation.
