Exosome treatment in Korea: what it is, how we deliver it, and who it suits

In short Exosome treatment in Korea delivers the signalling particles that stem cells release into the skin, to support regeneration and help a damaged barrier recover. At Symphony Skin Clinic a session takes 10 to 20 minutes, with the dose set in units and the delivery route chosen by the doctor.

Most people who search exosome korea have seen exosomes sold as serums and vials, and want to know what the in-clinic version actually is. This article covers only the treatment performed at our clinic, which is described on our exosome treatment page. We do not sell exosome products to take home.

It explains what an exosome is, how a session runs at Symphony, who it suits, what happens before and after, and how it compares with the other skin boosters we use. Cost is covered separately in what an exosome session costs in Korea.

What an exosome is, in plain terms

An exosome is a tiny vesicle that a cell releases to send instructions to other cells. One derived from stem cells carries the signals those cells would send.

It is not a drug and not a filler. Placed in the skin, it works on the environment: cell activity, the balance of the skin's microflora, and the barrier that keeps irritation out.

How a Korean exosome treatment runs at Symphony

Exosomes are not interchangeable. Source material, purity and concentration differ between products, so which one is used, and how much, is decided at consultation rather than fixed by a menu.

  1. The doctor chooses. Which exosome, how many units and which route are decided by the physician who then treats you.
  2. The dose matches the area. Because the product is measured in units, the amount is set for the area rather than a fixed package.
  3. The route matches you. Options are needle-free Mirajet, an automated injector, a multi-needle injector or hand injection.

Who exosome treatment suits, and who it does not

  • Breakouts and repeated inflammation: skin that flares often, where calming matters more than resurfacing.
  • Skin that needs settling: weakened by environment, over-treatment or irritation.
  • Dullness and dryness: skin that has lost radiance and feels rough.
  • Pores, tone and firmness: addressed gradually as the skin's condition improves.
  • Scalp and hair: also used there, with suitability confirmed at consultation.

It is not a way to add volume or lift sagging. If that is the main concern, we say so and discuss a different treatment.

Exosome injection in Korea: before, during and after

Topical cream is applied first, and sedation is available on request. The treatment itself takes 10 to 20 minutes.

  • With needle delivery: small bumps are normal and usually absorb within about a day.
  • With needle-free Mirajet: there are no bumps.
  • Afterwards: you return to normal activity straight away, and same-day flights are fine.
  • Next sessions: usually spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart, with the number set at consultation.

Exosome skin booster or another booster?

Exosome is one of several skin boosters we use, and they do different jobs. The comparison below covers only treatments performed at Symphony.

Planning exosome around a trip to Seoul

Because sessions are spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart, a short trip usually fits one. If your time in Korea is short, we plan around your dates and set out what is best left to a later visit.

Interval, home care and what to avoid are written out before you leave, and you can reach our doctors once you are home. Directions to the clinic near Sinsa Station are on our visit page.

Questions patients ask us

Is exosome treatment in Korea the same as an exosome serum?

No. This article is about an in-clinic treatment where a doctor sets the dose and delivers it into the skin. We do not sell exosome products to take home.

Does exosome injection hurt?

Topical cream is applied first, and sedation is available on request. With needle-free Mirajet there is no needle at all.

Is an exosome skin booster suitable for sensitive skin?

It is one of the reasons it is offered. Exosomes from three-dimensional culture secrete the immune modulator PGE2 at higher concentration, which is associated with reduced inflammatory signalling. Suitability is still confirmed at consultation.

How many exosome sessions do I need?

Sessions are usually spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart, and the number is decided at consultation. If your trip is short, we plan around the dates you have.

Can I fly home the same day?

Yes. You return to normal activity straight away. With needle delivery, small bumps usually absorb within about a day.

Can exosome be combined with other boosters?

Yes. It is one of the materials we combine within a Symphony Custom Booster session. What it is paired with depends on what your skin is short of.
