Juvelook in Korea: how it works, which type you need, and how many sessions to plan
Juvelook in Korea is one of the most searched skin treatments from Singapore, the Philippines and North America. This guide explains what it is made of, how the four types differ, when changes appear, and how to fit a course of sessions around travel to Seoul.

In this article
Juvelook is often described online as a filler, a skin booster or a collagen stimulator. It is closest to the last. Knowing that before you book changes what you should expect on the day, and how many visits you plan for.
What Juvelook is: PDLLA plus hyaluronic acid
Juvelook combines PDLLA (Poly D,L-lactide), a biodegradable and biocompatible polymer, with hyaluronic acid. The two materials do different jobs. The HA settles the skin soon after the session. The PDLLA does the slower work: as it breaks down, your own collagen forms around it.
The particle design matters too. Juvelook particles are small, round and porous with a mesh-like inner structure, which is why nodules are less likely to form. The particles are biodegradable and cleared over time; the collagen formed around them is your own tissue.

Juvelook, Juvelook i, Juvelook Volume and Juvelook G
The lineup is not a good–better–best ladder. Each particle size exists because a different layer needs treating.
| Type | Particle | Composition | Layer | Typical areas |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Juvelook | 24 μm | PDLLA 42.5 mg · HA 7.5 mg | Mid dermis | Full face: pores, texture, tone |
| Juvelook i | 20 μm | PDLLA 25.5 mg · HA 4.5 mg | Upper dermis | Around eyes, mouth, glabella |
| Juvelook Volume | 40 μm | PDLLA 170 mg · HA 30 mg | Lower dermis to subcutaneous | Cheeks, nasolabial folds, jawline, deep scars |
| Juvelook G | 65 μm | PDLLA 170 mg · HA 30 mg | Dermis to subcutaneous | Neck, arms, body |
How many sessions, and when results appear
A session takes about 10–20 minutes with topical cream, and you can return to normal activity the same day. For the standard Juvelook formulation, three sessions at four-week intervals is the usual pattern; Volume and G are planned differently.
- On the day: the HA component settles the skin; the PDLLA has not started its work yet.
- 3–4 weeks: the usual interval to the next session in a planned course.
- From about 6 weeks: collagen formed around the degrading PDLLA begins to show.
- After the course: changes keep developing; maintenance is discussed from there.
Response varies between individuals. If you need a visible change for a specific date — a wedding, a photo shoot — tell us at consultation so the timing can be planned backwards from it.

| Conventional HA filler | Juvelook | Rejuran | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main material | Hyaluronic acid gel | PDLLA + HA | Polynucleotide (PN) |
| What creates the change | The gel occupying space | Your own collagen forming around PDLLA | Improving the environment of the dermis |
| Timing | Volume from the day | From around 6 weeks | Builds over a course |
| Usual pattern | Single session, topped up | Course at 3–4 week intervals | 3–4 sessions at 3–4 week intervals |
Juvelook is not "better" than a filler; it answers a different complaint. A filler restores a specific contour on the day. Juvelook rebuilds skin quality and support across an area over weeks. Rejuran works on texture and resilience with a different material, and the two are often combined. Collaum, a PLLA microsphere product, is another collagen stimulator we choose between depending on the layer being treated.
Side effects and aftercare
- Small bumps: if the nine-needle injector is used, small even bumps appear and are usually absorbed within about a day.
- Redness or bruising: possible at injection points; how much and for how long varies.
- Flying: same-day return to normal activity is expected, so flying home is usually fine.
- Tell us first if you take blood thinners, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have active inflammation in the area.
Planning Juvelook around a trip to Seoul
Because Juvelook is planned as a course, the question is how many visits you can realistically make. We build the plan around that rather than around a standard protocol.
| Your travel | How we usually plan it |
|---|---|
| One trip only | One session with the formulation that matches your main concern, plus written aftercare |
| Two or three trips, a month apart | A standard course of sessions at four-week intervals |
| Occasional trips | Sessions timed to your visits, often combined with Thermage FLX or a skin booster |

Key points
- Juvelook combines biodegradable PDLLA with hyaluronic acid; your own collagen forms as the PDLLA breaks down.
- Four types: Juvelook (24 μm), Juvelook i (20 μm), Juvelook Volume (40 μm) and Juvelook G (65 μm), each for a different layer.
- For the standard formulation, three sessions at four-week intervals is typical; changes appear from about six weeks.
- Sessions take 10–20 minutes with same-day return, so a course can be fitted around trips to Seoul.

How much does Juvelook cost in Korea?
It depends on the formulation, the amount used, the areas treated and the number of sessions. Rather than quote a single figure, we send an estimate after reviewing your photos and travel dates on WhatsApp.
Is Juvelook better than other fillers?
It does a different job. A hyaluronic acid filler restores a contour on the day; Juvelook stimulates your own collagen over weeks to improve skin quality and support. Which suits you depends on what you want to change.
How long do Juvelook results last?
The collagen-driven change appears from around six weeks and continues to develop after a course. How long it holds varies between individuals, so maintenance is discussed after the course rather than fixed in advance.
What is the difference between Juvelook and Juvelook Volume?
Juvelook uses a 24 μm particle at the mid dermis for texture and tone. Juvelook Volume uses a 40 μm particle at higher concentration, placed deeper, for hollows, nasolabial folds and the jawline.
Can I fly home the same day after Juvelook?
Yes. Same-day return to normal activity is expected. If the nine-needle injector is used, small bumps usually settle within about a day.
