Thermage FLX in Korea: what decides the price, how many shots you need, and how to plan the trip

At Symphony Skin Clinic in Sinsa, Seoul, most Thermage enquiries from abroad start with the same question: "How much is it?" The honest answer is a range, because two quotes with the same headline price can include very different treatments. Here is how to read them.

What Thermage FLX does, in one minute

Thermage FLX sends monopolar radiofrequency into the dermis while the skin surface is cooled. Existing collagen fibers contract on the day, and over the following months the same heat prompts new collagen to form. It is the option for skin that has lost firmness rather than volume.

Symphony uses the 4th-generation FLX. It reads impedance zone by zone and recalculates energy per shot (AccuREP), and its larger tip covers the same area in fewer passes than the 3rd-generation CPT.

What decides the price of Thermage in Korea

When you compare quotes from Seoul clinics, check these five points. A lower headline figure often means one of them is different.

1. Shot count. The total tip is used in 300, 600 or 900 REP. The number should be agreed before treatment, not after.
2. Eye tip. The eye area is treated with a dedicated 0.25 cm² tip in 225 or 450 REP. Some quotes cover the face only.
3. Genuine tip. At Symphony the tip is unsealed in the room, you are told the shots used, and a certificate is issued afterwards.
4. Comfort options. Topical cream is standard; inhaled sedation or monitored IV sedation changes the plan.
5. Combinations. Thermage is often paired with Ultherapy or a skin booster, which is priced as a package.

How many shots do you need: 300, 600 or 900?

Shot count is decided at consultation from face size, the degree of laxity and the areas you want prioritized. At Symphony the face is divided into zones before the first shot, so areas that have lost the most support receive more shots rather than spreading a fixed count evenly.

• Mainly skin texture and early softening: a lower count may be enough.
• Visible laxity along the jawline and cheeks: a higher count is usually discussed.
• Crepey skin around the eyes: the eye tip is added separately.

Thermage or Ultherapy in Korea?

They work at different depths. Ultherapy aims focused ultrasound at the SMAS layer for lift; Thermage uses radiofrequency across the dermis for tightening and texture. If both layers have loosened, Ulthermajet combines them in one visit of about 60 to 90 minutes.

Planning Thermage around a trip to Seoul

Thermage fits a short stay well. There is no wound and no dressing, and mild warmth or redness usually settles within a few hours.

1. Before you fly: send photos and dates on WhatsApp. A coordinator replies in English.
2. Day 1: consultation, skin check, agreed shot count, treatment (about 30–40 minutes).
3. Same day or next day: normal activities and flights are usually fine.
4. At home: results continue to develop over months; send photos if you have questions.

Response varies between individuals. The pattern we describe at consultation is: a tighter outline on the day, changes in fine lines from around 2 to 3 months, and the clearest tightening at around 6 months.
