Botox in Korea: the vial is the same everywhere, the plan is not
In short Botox in korea covers two different treatments that share a name: injected into a muscle, botulinum toxin relaxes that muscle for a period, and injected far more dilutely into the dermis it works on texture instead. Which one you need, and how much, is decided at consultation rather than from a menu.

Botox injected without regard for the individual face causes problems we see regularly: hollowing of the cheeks after jaw treatment, an expression that reads as stiff, and reduced response after repeated sessions. These are not rare complications of an exotic drug. They are what happens when a standard amount is placed in a standard spot.
That is why a consultation here is about your muscles rather than about a package. Muscle bulk, how you actually move your face, the shape of your jawline and what you have had injected before all change the answer. This guide is what we would tell you at that consultation, written out before you fly.
Two treatments, one name
Patients often arrive asking for one when they mean the other. The two differ in depth, in volume and in what they are trying to change.
| Botox | Skin botox | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it goes | Into a specific muscle, at planned points | Into the dermis, small amounts spread across many points |
| What it acts on | Muscles that fold the skin, or muscles that are bulky | Skin that has lost tone and looks dull |
| Typical areas | Forehead, glabella, around the eyes, nasolabial area; jaw, calves, trapezius | The face as a whole |
| What changes | Expression lines soften; treated muscle reduces in volume | Fine lines, overall firmness and the appearance of pores |
Which one you need, and how much, is decided at consultation
If texture rather than movement is what bothers you, skin botox is one option and an injectable such as Rejuran is another. They are not interchangeable, and we would rather you knew that before booking than afterwards.
Jaw, calves and trapezius
jaw botox korea is the single most asked-about treatment among visitors, and calf botox korea is not far behind. Both are muscle work, and both are decided by the thickness of the muscle rather than by the name of the area.
- Jaw (masseter). The aim is a smoother lower-face outline. The risk to plan against is hollowing: too much volume placed too broadly in a face that did not have the soft tissue to spare.
- Calves. A larger muscle and a larger area, so the amount needed is correspondingly larger.
- Trapezius. Requested for shoulder line rather than for the face, and assessed the same way.
- Expression lines. Forehead, glabella, around the eyes and the nasolabial area. Here the question is how much movement you want to keep.
Amounts are decided muscle by muscle after assessing bulk and movement, rather than applied as a fixed quantity for everyone. There is no correct number of units for an area, because there is no standard masseter.
On brands, and what we can actually tell you
korean botox brands is a reasonable thing to search, because Korea has both imported and domestically made botulinum toxin products and they are not identical. This clinic holds a German import and Korean-made products, and which one is used is discussed at consultation rather than decided by a menu.
What we will not do is attach a promise to a brand name. Only genuine product is used, drawn and dosed in the treatment room, and the amount used is the amount discussed with you. Nothing is diluted beyond what the plan calls for. If you want the current list of products held, ask when you message and you will be told before you book.
What to expect, and when
- Same day. Make-up and washing your face are possible straight after. There is nothing to dress and no restriction on ordinary activity.
- First days. The effect appears and then continues to build rather than arriving all at once.
- 3 to 6 months. The usual interval before the next session is considered.
- With repeat sessions. In our experience the effect tends to hold for longer as sessions are repeated at a sensible interval.
The opposite is also true and worth saying plainly. Reduced response after repeated treatment is one of the known problems of over-frequent, over-dosed injection. It is why we do not shorten the interval simply because a patient is traveling, and why we ask about your injection history.
Fitting it into a trip to Seoul
A session takes about 20 minutes, the anesthetic is a topical cream, and you return to normal activity immediately. There is no recovery day to build into an itinerary, so a morning appointment on your last day is perfectly workable. If you are planning several treatments across one trip, how to plan a week in Seoul sets out the order that usually works.

On cost, botox seoul price varies by area rather than by clinic reputation, and how the price is built here sets out the in-house ranges. If you are still deciding where to go, what to check before you book lists four things you can ask anyone. The doctors and the visiting page cover the rest.
Questions patients ask us
Is botox in Korea different from botox anywhere else?
The material is not. Botulinum toxin is a purified neurotoxin and the vial is the same product wherever it is bought. What differs between clinics is who decides the units, the depth and the injection points, and who performs the injection.
How many units will I need for jaw botox?
There is no standard number, because there is no standard masseter. The amount is set after assessing the thickness of the muscle and how you move your jaw. More is not better: too much volume placed too broadly is what causes cheeks to look hollow.
Can I have calf botox and fly home the same day?
Yes. The session takes around twenty minutes, there is nothing to dress, and there is no restriction on ordinary activity afterwards.
Which Korean botox brand do you use?
The clinic holds a German import and Korean-made products, and which is used is discussed at consultation. Only genuine product is used, drawn and dosed in the treatment room, and the amount used is the amount discussed with you.
I had botox two months ago. Can I have more while I am in Korea?
Tell us at consultation and we will advise. The usual interval is three to six months, and reduced response after repeated treatment is a known problem of over-frequent injection. We do not shorten the interval to fit a travel schedule.
Will my expression look frozen?
Expression becomes unnatural when movement is removed indiscriminately rather than selectively. We discuss how much movement you want to keep, and set the amount accordingly.
