Choosing a botox clinic in Seoul: four questions that actually separate them
In short Searching for a botox seoul clinic returns ranked lists, and a ranking mostly tells you what the person who wrote it decided to weigh. Here is the alternative: four things you can verify yourself, before you book, at any clinic you are considering.

Botox is the same purified material wherever you buy it. A vial does not change according to the clinic that stores it. So when you are comparing places, the thing worth comparing is not the drug but the process around it: who decides the units, the depth and the injection points, and who holds the syringe.
We are not going to write about other clinics here, which would not be a fair comparison from us and is not something a medical provider in Korea is permitted to do. What we can do is disclose our own answers to four questions, so you can put the same four to anyone else.
First decide which botox, then decide where
The most common mismatch we see is not a bad clinic. It is a patient who booked muscle botox when what was bothering them was texture, or the reverse. The two share a name and nothing else.
| Botox | Skin botox | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it goes | Into a specific muscle, at planned points | Into the dermis, small amounts spread across many points |
| What it acts on | Muscles that fold the skin, or muscles that are bulky | Skin that has lost tone and looks dull |
| Typical areas | Forehead, glabella, around the eyes; jaw, calves, trapezius | The face as a whole |
| What changes | Expression lines soften; treated muscle reduces in volume | Fine lines, overall firmness and the appearance of pores |
Decided at consultation, and worth settling before you shortlist clinics
If skin quality is the actual complaint, an injectable such as Rejuran may be a closer answer than either. The background on both botox types is in botox in Korea, explained.
The four questions
- Does the doctor who plans it perform it? Here, the same physician who assesses your muscles at consultation carries out the injection. The plan is not handed over to someone else at the door of the treatment room.
- Is the amount set per muscle or per menu? Amounts are decided muscle by muscle after assessing bulk and movement, rather than applied as a fixed quantity for everyone.
- Is the skin assessed before the first injection? A skin analysis system images the face, neck and wrinkle depth, so the discussion starts from what is measured rather than from impression.
- Is the product genuine and the dose disclosed? Only genuine product is used, drawn and dosed in the treatment room. The amount used is the amount discussed, nothing is diluted beyond what the plan calls for, and you are told what was used.
None of these requires you to trust anyone. Each is a question with an answer, and the way a clinic answers is itself information.
On Innotox, Xeomin and the rest
innotox vs botox is asked constantly, and the honest answer from us is limited on purpose. We can tell you what this clinic holds, which is a German import and Korean-made products, and that which one is used is discussed at consultation. We cannot compare products we do not hold, and we will not attach a promise to a brand name.
What matters more than the label, in our experience, is what happens around it. A brand cannot decide how many units go into your masseter, or how deep, or how much movement you keep. If a clinic's answer to your product question is longer than its answer to the four questions above, that itself tells you something.
Why we do not publish units per area
botox units per area charts are everywhere and they are seductive because they look like data. We do not publish one, for a reason that goes to the heart of how this is planned: there is no standard masseter. Two people asking for the same jaw treatment do not need the same amount, and a chart that says otherwise is describing an average rather than a face.
What you get instead is the amount decided in front of you after your muscle bulk and movement are assessed, told to you before the injection, and confirmed afterwards. Cost follows the same logic, which is why the price here is set by area rather than per unit.
What actually goes wrong, and when
masseter botox side effects and spock brow are both worth searching before you book, and both come from the same root. They are not rare complications of an exotic drug. They are what happens when a standard amount is placed in a standard spot.
- Hollow-looking cheeks after jaw treatment. This follows from too much volume placed too broadly in a face that did not have the soft tissue to spare. Assessing that before the first injection, rather than after, is the point of the consultation.
- An expression that reads as stiff or unnatural. Expression becomes unnatural when movement is removed indiscriminately rather than selectively. On the forehead in particular, how much movement you want to keep is settled before the amount is set.
- Reduced response over time. A known problem of over-frequent, over-dosed injection. It is why we ask about your injection history and why we do not shorten the usual three to six month interval because someone is traveling.

Practical notes for visitors
A session takes about twenty minutes with topical anesthetic cream, and you can wash your face and wear make-up straight after, so no recovery day needs to go into your itinerary. Consultations are in English. If you are fitting several treatments into one trip, how to plan a week in Seoul covers the order that usually works, and the doctors and visiting pages cover the rest.
Questions patients ask us
How do I choose a botox clinic in Seoul?
Ask four things: does the doctor who plans it perform it, is the amount set per muscle or per menu, is your skin assessed before the first injection, and is the product genuine with the dose disclosed. Any clinic can answer those, and how they answer is information.
Innotox vs Botox, which is better?
We cannot compare products we do not hold, and we do not attach promises to brand names. This clinic holds a German import and Korean-made products, and which is used is discussed at consultation. What changes the result more than the label is how the amount, depth and points are decided.
How many units per area will I need?
We do not publish a units-per-area chart, because there is no standard muscle to base one on. The amount is decided after assessing your muscle bulk and movement, told to you before the injection, and confirmed afterwards.
What causes hollow cheeks after masseter botox?
Too much volume placed too broadly in a face that did not have the soft tissue to spare. Assessing that before the first injection rather than after is what the consultation is for.
What causes spock brow after forehead treatment?
It belongs to the same group as a stiff-looking expression: movement removed indiscriminately rather than selectively. On the forehead we settle how much movement you want to keep before setting the amount.
I was injected two months ago. Should I wait?
Tell us at consultation. The usual interval before the next session is three to six months, and reduced response after repeated treatment is a known problem of over-frequent injection. We will not shorten the interval to fit a travel schedule.
